You might have created many categories for segregating posts and you might want to delete the “uncategorized” category. Steps to delete uncategorized category from WordPress
Step 1 – Create a New Category
- Go to Click on “Posts” then click on “Categories“
- Under “Add New Category”, Enter “Name” and “Slug” of the new category that you want to create
- Click on “Add New Category“
Step 2 – Change Default Category
- Click on “Settings” then click on “Writing“
- Beside ” Default Post Category“, click the drop-down and select the new category you have created in the steps above
- Click on “Save Changes“
Step 3 – Delete the Uncategorized category
- Click on “Posts” then click on “Categories“
- Hover your cursor over the “Uncategorized” category” and click “Delete“
- Click “OK” in the box
It’s done, you have successfully deleted the “Uncategorized” category from WordPress.
